Bulgaria’s national volleyball team server Matey Kaziyski is selected Europe’s best volleyball player for 2006.


Kaziyski was selected through the vote of European national team coaches, the European Volleyball Confederation website said.


Polish Mariusz Wlazly and Italian Alessandro Fei took second and third position in the ranking, Focus news agency said.


The award ceremony for Europe’s best player will be held on April 1 2007 in Moscow, Russia, after the final of European Champions’ League 2006/07.


Dancho Lazarov, head of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation, said that the selection of Kaziyski for Europe’s best player was recognition of his talent.
