Cuba to meet China in Men’s Volleyball-from Norceca

HAVANA, Cuba, March 7, 2008.- The Cuba Men’s National Team will face China in two matches next on March 11-12 at Ciudad Deportiva Sports Palace as part of the preparation for both teams looking toward the Beijing Games.



The Asian team will travel to the Caribbean island on Friday with about 20 players of their training squad as they warm-up as the host country of the Olympics.



Cuba, meanwhile, is training hard for the World Olympic Qualification Tournament to be held in Dusseldorf at the end of May against Spain, Chinese Taipei and host Germany.



Before those official matches, Cuba and China will be facing off in a couple of closed doors training matches.



After this exchange, that can result very beneficial for the Cubans, the team coached by Orlando Samuels is scheduled to complete a three-week training period at the high altitude of Guatemala.
