The UC Irvine women’s volleyball, led by U.S. Women’s National Team Assistant Coach, Paula Weishoff, will play in an exhibition match Friday, April 29th in the Bren Events Center.

The Anteaters will take on the Tianjin Bridgestone Women’s Volleyball Team, a professional volleyball team in the Chinese Volleyball League. First serve for the event is 7:00 p.m.

“We are excited to play Tianjin Bridgestone,” said Weishoff. “From a spectators’ standpoint this should be a fun, fast-moving, and dynamic match. With Tianjin's fast offense and quick defenders I am sure that this match will not disappoint the fans. Any time you have a chance to play an international team you have to embrace the challenge of a totally different system from what you are used to in the U.S. It will definitely be a learning experience, but one that will help us improve immensely,” said Weishoff.

The international event, which is free and open to the general public, will showcase the 2011 Anteaters.

Spectators are asked to park in the Mesa Structure, adjacent to the Bren Center. Parking for all athletic events is $10.
