看到了很心痛啊,今年已经有两站比赛取消了,消息来自volleycountry
The Swatch-FIVB World Tour calendar has suffered a second serious upset recently. The renowned beach volleyball center in Stavanger already left the circuit for the 2012 season due to unforseen financial troubles, as we informed you not so long ago; now it is the predominantly French-speaking Canadian city Quebec that is out of the season calendar as well. The promoters of the Open cite financial limitations as the main reason behind the withdrawal.

The Quebec Open has only been introduced to the World Tour last year when the Americans Dalhausser-Rogers won an all-American final versus Fuerbringer-Lucena. The event was originally scheduled in the period 21-26 August and along with the Grand Slam in Stare Jablonki (Poland) were supposed to be the last two competitions on the Tour after the Olympic Games in London.

Now it would be curious whether FIVB will face problems organizing the soon-to-be-confirmed last Open in Agadir (Morocco) and whether they will try to come with a back-up plan for the 2012 season by organizing a new event to make up for the two recent withdrawals.

Domestic beach volley tour in Brazil

The Circuito Banco do Brasil Tour is a main part of the preparation of the best Brazilian couples prior to the summer months in Europe. With 10 events in the calendar of the domestic Tour spread all over the year, starting at the beginning of February till December, the Brazilian participants have indeed a very good selection of opportunities to keep their best shape and play rhythm throughout the whole 12 months. The climate is a huge factor, of course, for organizing such a championship. It is no wonder why some of the European players prefer travelling to Brazil during the European winter to play a series of friendlies against the likes of some of the best in world.

The third stop of the entirely Brazilian Tour was held at the end of March in the town Joao Pessoa - capital of the Paraiba state. It was won by Emanuel-Alison after they suffered some earlier disappointments in the previous two events. In a clear indication of goals for 2012 the world's currently best tandem overcame in two sets (21-15, 21-16) Bruno-Hevaldo. Thiago-Ferramenta gained the third place.

Asked for the weaker performances in the previous two events, Alison explained that "Focus was put on physical trainings, this is why we had a slow start in the tournament. However, we are starting to enjoy the results of the hard work and feeling much more comfortable on the field".

The opener in Salvador, 2-5 February, was won by Bruno-Hevaldo in straight sets against Marcio-Franco. The second stop in Recife, 1-4  March, was won by Harley-Evandro after a 2-0 victory over Thiago-Ferramenta. The current ranking leaders of the Circuito Banco do Brasil Bruno De Paula and Hevaldo Moreira have appeared in two out of three finals.

It is namely Brazil and its capital Brasilia that will stage the first event of the Swatch-FIVB World Tour between 17 and 22 April.
