瑟必加的神奇二传是我本人比较喜欢的球员，主要是因为长得帅，这是他近期接受某专访时候的文章。由于我才疏学浅，原版波兰文不能看懂，转成英文也不能完全领会，所以只好贴出英文的，希望高手能翻译一下，采访中大概提到了离开国家队的心情，自己的哥哥，欣赏的偶像，对国家队年轻队员寄语的希望，还有塞尔维亚女排的发展，最后就是自己在俱乐部的队友，教练，以及何时结束职业生涯。
One of the best playmakers in the world, the Olympic champion in Sydney was the guest of honor at the Avenue of Stars in Milicz. PlusLiga: What did you think when he was invited to the Avenue of Stars in Milicz?
Nikola Grbić: I thought that perhaps getting older and have time to go to volleyball retire .... I'm joking, of course. In fact, accepted this invitation as a great honor, and the most pleased me that I was honored with his brother Vlado (Vladimir Grbić - ed.). I am convinced that we were invited to the Walk of Fame thanks to performances in the national team, so I rejoiced greatly that the ceremony was accompanied Friendlies Poland - Serbia. I must admit that my emotions are heightened.
- It's hard to watch the match from the stands represent?
- It's a very strange feeling. Back when I recently watched performances by staff in LŚ knowing that in a few weeks, will join fellow was about two years ago when I watched the championship heading Europium fan, I felt terrible, probably for the first time so painfully realized the passage of time. But I took this decision, I had to finally give way to the younger. For years, I gave everything I represent, I gave her whole heart, I've spent a lot of time. I do not regret it, I'm proud that I was able to be there. Appearances in the frame enriched me lots of great excitement, fantasy games, and much knowledge that I will remain forever. It was one of the most beautiful and the most important periods in my life and for this reason the national team, regardless of the results, and the one who will lead it, will always be close to my heart. To be honest, I did not expect that survive until such strong emotions that this visit to Poland shrug me so deeply.
- The more that every day you are not especially emotional person.
- On the pitch I always try to control the emotions, hiding them deep under the skin. But here I could afford a little cloying. You do not even about the fact that I was looking at the side of the national squad, but what has happened behind the scenes - lots of fantastic meeting with people who, like me, love volleyball. It touches the heart.
- During a ceremony at Milicz direction of your brother spoke beautiful words. He thanked his former idols and authoritarian hoping that now he and you will be such role models for younger generations. This kind of mission to fulfill?
- Certainly yes, but not for all. Many former volleyball career after moving away from the retina, do not feel the need to be in the environment or not this sufficient motivation. And I understand that. In my case it's different. For many years, wherever I play, I recognize a lot of young coaches and volleyball players, who come to me saying that follow my actions that I am their hero. It fills me with pride, but also causes a sense of responsibility. Therefore, I would like the best of your knowledge and experience to help anyone who asks for it, selflessly and with great joy.
- You had a volleyball idol? Mentor?
- Yes, it was Jeffrey Stork, American quarterback, gold medalist at the World Championships and Olympic Games. I had the opportunity to play against him, and one of the matches where we were staying in the same hotel I asked what I agreed to spend one hour of your precious time. I really wanted to learn how to prepare for the match, which meant just before the start, during and as tactically solve different situations on the field. He agreed. He took a piece of paper and a step by step everything I explained in great detail. For me it was a quantum leap forward, I suddenly found myself on the other side of the rainbow. And I could say "I'm sorry, I do not have time." I still remember how I felt then that I was happy. This man taught me how important is respect for other people, how much you can give them, by doing so little. I want to do the same thing and I to do with great satisfaction.
- The Serbian national team currently playing a lot of young players. One of them asked you for advice?
- That's right there. Even here, Milicz I had the opportunity to meet with them. I thought Alex Brđović use the opportunity and ask to speak, but he did not. So in the end he hooked him and asked if he would like me to give him some advice. Said, astonished really mind? We talked a few minutes, I met just before leaving for the game, but I saw in his eyes, surprise and joy. I hope that now he will come to me, if he wants to learn something.
- Over to you by the thought that now the young volleyball players do not care about authority, they do not need them?
- First of all, I feel that they place in us too much respect, fear not just come in and start a conversation - maybe because of the age difference, perhaps out of respect for our achievements and experiences. I hope not because that they do not care. When I started playing in the scene, it was not that large differences in age, we did not feel this barrier. Anyway, I still do not feel it and still give hints younger colleagues, this is the Cuneo and that was while he played in the national team. Never one to be not offended, so I guess it is not so bad.
- I heard even that kadrowicze you prefer to listen than the first coach?
- The coach had to think of a million different details. I, however, the match was focusing on the little things, usually technical, relating to the setting block or defense in certain situations. I've never been a criticism, but rather building, due to more experience. Do not want anyone can prove that I'm better, we all had a common goal - to win. And only in that I have always tried to help. Igor Kolaković is a wise man and always gave me that little bit of freedom.
- We are talking at the end of the two friendly matches Poland - Serbia. How do you evaluate the attitude of his countrymen?
- We have a team of many talented players. I believe that through hard work and dedication, with each duel will play better. The meeting in Twardogóra sample showed his great potential, also showed that the retina makes them a lot of fun. They need to play as often as possible to gain experience, toughen up in heavy battles.
- Do you think that the current generation of Serbian volleyball team is just as talented as your generation?
- Talent is nothing but the amount of time needed to train certain operations skills. If someone has talent, to achieve a particular level it takes less time. But that does not mean that having talent is a guarantee of achieving the desired effect without performing a particular job. In the history of the retina were several talents who did not want to work hard and do a career there, but he never reached the top. We volleyball more and less gifted by nature with talent, but how to reach the result, and good players will be, depends entirely on the amount of work, the dedication and humility possessed in itself. These factors not only enhance the skills, the mentality of the players.
- In Milicz we have seen two very young playmakers - Jovović and Brđović. I have the impression that the latter is likely to be a worthy successor to Mr.
- Definitely. First of all, it is high, which gives him an advantage on the grid. For this, and for his size, moves very fast, has a great serve, and a good block. You can also see that he has an idea for a game, a lot of panache. It must, however, take effect physical work on the muscles of the body, because right now is very slim. I think that within two or three years should be a really class player.
- Let's get back to your people. It is true that the coming season will be the last in your career?
- It's likely. Everything will depend on market demand. Unfortunately, in Italy, funding in the clubs are getting smaller and smaller, a lot of good players flees abroad and thus reduce the level of competition. I would not want to play volleyball just at all costs not to finish his career. I want to fight for the highest goals, to have a constant incentive to work. Cutting coupons from the output does not interest me. In the upcoming season I will play in Cuneo, because I have a valid contract. But afterwards thoroughly think over the situation. If you do not receive any serious offer as a player, for example, Polish (laughs), maybe someone wants to hire me as a coach.
- Apparently, you have received an interesting offer from Turkey. Why do not you take it?
- Offer was not interesting, not very serious. It was something like - we do not have too much money, we are able to build a strong team, but would like you would see in their ranks. Did not provide me one reason why I would even consider the matter. If they said, we offer you a three-year contract. Over the years proceed in the game as a player for a small money, but in the next season we'll double your wages, or offer you a position coach. Anything. But nothing like that happened. No one offered me a part in any meaningful project. Maybe felt that I was weak last season and I can not afford to have a good game ...
- In previous years, did not you got enough attractive proposal to leave Italia, in which you play a number of years?
- I never got any concrete suggestions - either in Turkey or of Polish or Russian. In any case, not so strong team, so I can seriously think of being transferred. In Italy, but spent a long time, I am still a foreigner, just as it would in any other country outside Serbia. I am a professional and I would come to play anywhere, everywhere, would carry out their work with the same commitment and dedication. I must admit that I have with this situation a little problem, because when I see what kind of quarterback goes to the best clubs, I start to wonder if I'm just a bad player that no one wants me, or maybe I have a bad manager (laughs). There is another option - you may live in the mistaken belief that I am too good a quarterback to fit the average proposal?
- Are you kidding me?
- I'm dead serious. I never really got the offer from a country other than Italy, the club with big ambitions and potential in Europe. If I was the president of the club and I would depend on acquiring a player, even knowing that it has a valid contract at least I tried. So when I become trenerm, I will not wait until the managers call me with suggestions, but he will be in contact with the players. If you make a deal, then I passed the baton to managers.
- Have you ever got a phone call from a coach?
- Throughout my career happened maybe three times that of a coach called me and said that he would gladly have me on your team. But only one of them called before signing the contract. He said that building a team from scratch and would like to help him succeed. He presented his plans carefully and concluded that I am the most suitable person for the project. I persuaded me to sign the contract. Then she pulled the other major players and the three years together we realized his vision.
- Are you disappointed last season in the implementation of Cuneo?
- Let me tell you a little bit of selfishness and that last season was for me personally a very good, definitely one of the best in terms of physical features. I have not had any serious injuries, I felt, and I feel really good. As a team, we have achieved more than expected. Champions League lost only two eyes. I am extremely proud of this result, because the loss of competition nobody gave us a chance, it Macerata and Trento were among the favorites. The Serie A1 moved up to the semi-finals and beat us there later winning the Scudetto.
- If Mastrangelo not quarreled with the coach and left the band, you would have a better chance of winning?
- If Mastrangelo was in the team, you probably do not awansowalibyśmy to the Final Four of the Champions League. I would not go into details, but the situation between him and the coach Piazza was really tense and very bad influence on the team, crashed our ranks. Maybe if we were in the composition of other valuable middle and we would not have used the experiments, the situation would turn out differently. But that's just what if.
