One of the symbols of the Sisley Volley team, he is the only player who was born and grew up in Treviso. He started playing volleyball in 1990, following his brother in the junior teams of the Sisley Volley, slowly becoming a rising star after winning 3 junior championships in the main categories (Under 16, 18, 20). His first appearance on the senior team bench together with top players like Bernardi, Fomin, Zwerver was in 1996. In 2002, after several seasons of hard practice, he appeared in the starting six for the Sisley Volleyball team, displaying his skills on court. He is now part of the new generation of Italian volleyball, and his talent was one of the keys to the winning streak of the Sisley Volleyball in Italy (3 national titles in a row, from 2003 to 2005) and the last trophy in Europe, the Indesit European Champions’ League in Rome, last March.
Alberto is also a member of the Italian national team. His very first game with the blue shirt was in November 2000 and the last season was important for him, since he was selected for the starting six for the European Championships. It happened to become an amazing adventure for Alberto, who helped the team to reach the gold medal, also gaining the ‘Best Player’ trophy.
“It was another great emotion for me”, commented Alberto Cisolla the victory of the European Champions’ League 2005/06 with his club Sisley TREVISO, “I was really excited before this Final Four, as was everyone else in my team, for many reasons: Firstly, this trophy had been missing in our club collection for many years. Then I remembered the days I spent in Rome with the national team and I wanted to repeat that great experience. We finally succeeded after playing two hard games against the best volleyball teams in Europe, showing great teamwork and devotion to reach this important title. It was a special time in my career, one of the best for sure!”
